Design File - Show Offs (page 42-43) By Pamela Young
It's their job to make others look good. In retail environments that range
from mass-market mega-chains to chichi boutiques, display fixtures are supposed
to enhance and attract attention to the merchandise, without competing with it.
As the custom and off-the-rack fixtures on these pages show, retail display
options come in almost as many shapes, styles and sizes as the products that
benefit from their support.
Otema Store Interiors of Markham, Ontario has produced a powder-coated metal
frame display system for Nautica Sport Tech that has been installed in more than
500 U.S. locations. The table shown here, which is 127 cm wide, 56 cm deep and
51 cm high, is the smaller of two nesting tables. Its top is surfaced with
silver-grey rubber in a raised diamond pattern. The larger table has a
see-through top of perforated metal.
